Watching Eric play ball

I realize it's impossible for kids to have any concept of "us" as former selves...you know, before THEY existed, but it did happen.

Eric and I played softball 5 nights a week some years and loved it. Being with friends, going to BW3 afterwards and just in general having a great time.

After a long hiatus, Eric is finally playing again--he filled in last year but this year is full time. He's a great player--and the girls are becoming ball park brats...those kids who run around behind the diamonds getting into who knows what, while their parents play ball. He's playing with Brandy and Nevon--who have been great friends to us over the years, so it's good to spend time with them and B's parents were even at the game last night.

I'm there, of course, but they just run around. Mostly with Haylee, which is great, and sometimes Autumn, Amara's pal from Darbydale, but sometimes other random kids, and sometimes themselves, stealing ice from peoples coolers and packing snacks to get through the grueling hour without access to food (although that might change b/c a super nice concession stand just opened up at Friar park, lol).

I probably won't play again--unless something monumental changes, and I miss it for sure--but at least we can all go and watch daddy play and have a great family time while doing it ;)
