After a good breakfast and bundling up, we headed south.
We scoured the upper lots, finding a few that would work, but nothing that blew our socks off...then we headed to the bottom lots, and across a bridge (literally) and found some Douglass Firs that were beckoning to us!
Eureka! There were so many perfect ones, just which one was coming home with us!!
Eric and dad cut it down, and even though it was snowy, and hovered around freezing, we had SO much fun. The girls were eating snow off the trees and running and chasing each other--we spent over an hour and it felt like a minute.
Back up top to shake the needles out and grab some cocoa, then back in the car to get our beauty home--we had an amazing trip and I couldn't imagine getting a tree any other way, or spending Black Friday any other way.
Cora was a complete mud-puppy after having wiped out a few times in the melting snow, but nothing some cocoa couldn't fix!
Amara was just glad to get her boots off and head home to decorate--she was already planning what SHE was going to do with the green beauty, haha.
