Basketball seems to be the winter sport of choice around here and Amara hadn't shown interest before but when her friend Irelyn and I coordinated for the girls to play, she was excited to sign up.
Amara had really only played basketball before in gym class but she took to it right away. I was proud of her skills with the ball and she really got excited about getting high top basketball shoes and for practices. It was nice because in the middle of winter when it's dark at 4, we still had something active to do.
We practice till January when games start--so that will be interesting, but for now we are enjoying watching her!
