Right after Amara switched over to the Grove City Christian schools, we heard about the upcoming Christmas program--seems we joined just in time for her to practice.
The pageant featured all the kids' classes, including hers. Mrs. Misty sent a note out telling us that the Ladybug class kids would be dressed as angels, which immediately peaked my interest ;)
I asked Amara during the days leading up to her song if she knew the song, and she'd always act like she didn't know. On the Thursday before, Ms. Angie even told us that they practiced on the big stage during class that day, yet Amara never mentioned it...
We got Amara to her dropoff, the Ladybug classroom, at 5:30, then headed to the auditorium to find seats. Already we were near the back, as the room was packed! By the time her group took the stage (5th in) Cora was already ready to go, but she stuck it out.
The ladybugs took the stage, dressed as angels, and were as cute as could be. Amara did the motions of the song quite well, but didn't seem to be too confident in her singing--still, she smiled and seemed to enjoy what she was doing. Mrs. Misty led the group from just in front of the stage, and had them all following along.
At the end, all the kids (had to be over 200) took the stage for the finale and to sing Happy Birthday Jesus. We were dismissed into the cafeteria for cookies and punch and Amara was excited to see all the grandparents and aunt Kristin there too!
It was a late night for all of us, but the girls were still fired up and excited when we got home. Our first big stage production was a success and we enjoyed watching our little angel so very much.
