We were lucky enough to be able to swing going to the Nutcracker reading on an otherwise packed Sunday. We had hip hop practice, then this, then Megan's baby shower, wow. We got the girls dressed up in their ballet finest (Amara's request), grabbed our peanut butter donation to Mid Ohio Food Bank and headed to the Balletmet practice space.
Amara was kind of reserved at first--and never did take off her jean jacket ;) But she had fun dancing with the other kids, when she was sure no one else was watching.
Cora hopped right up and took off like a firecracker--but as soon as the professional kids came in, she took a seat to watch them. She was mesmerized!
A friend of mine from school, Laura Sturm, is actually the dance education teacher there, so she danced with the girls a little--they enjoyed the one-on-one attention and direction from a dancer too.
By the time it was over, they had worn themselves out and were ready to go, but not before we bought our tickets! I've wanted to take them for a few years now and I absolutely can't wait!
Cora was all smiles as she left, with her nutcracker cheek stickers on. It's such a great community event, I was happy to take the girls and we all really had a great time watching our dancers as well as the kids and professionals there too!
