decking the halls

The girls were really into decorating this year, not even just trees, but people too :) They posed by each and every tree we saw it seemed and I don't think they stopped decorating our tree until we took it down!

(Amara and her very willing buddy Melissa, who is the angel on the tree ;))

Cora loves to pose and couldn't resist any opportunity. The kids love looking at the ornaments and it takes forever, but i'd rather do that than me do it alone any day.

Amara loves being the director, boss, conductor, whatever you want to call it--she gets the ornaments out, examines them, and decides the order they will go on and where. She's VERY pragmatic about it all. She was also really good at helping Cora, who isn't "so skilled as she--since she's only 4..."

She also was very sure to secure the ornaments which I appreciated, especially since we have Mr. Puppy Oliver with us this holiday. Those wood floors are brutal to ornaments when they fall!

We looked forward to adding a few more ornaments when we all got home every day. We didn't rush it--we missed having mom and dad there for sure to be involved, but we also made sure to take our time and enjoy the kids at their speed.
