Cookie day

We had a much anticipated cookie day this year, as everyone was eager to see all our remodeling!  Mom helped me for weeks before trying to decorate the house and feverishly unpack as much as we possibly could in anticipation of seeing so many friends all at once.
Mother Nature, however, had other plans--and blanketed us with some snow and ice overnight and in the afternoon, so a few friends couldn't make it--but we had a ton of fun!

Cora was thrilled to have an audience around, kids or adults, and jumped right in.  We also learned that her height makes her an excellent cookie stealer :)
Carolyn, as usual, helped me orchestrate all the recipes, while all the other gals picked up recipes and baked for hours!  Eric and I took turns giving tours and the girls played with plenty of friends running literally, around in circles all day.
We tried some new ones too--a peppermint mint I found as well as a pinwheel recipe that used a sugar cookie mix, so we had a variety of both old and new.  The weather was perfect for baking and wine and staying indoors.

The star of the baking and cookies were the no bakes, with 3 batches, I think, and messaging Kortney half way across the world for her no-bake recipe, also with dark chocolate this year, amazing.
Dawn made our sugar cookie bars a beautiful purple, which all of us were thrilled with, it was so pretty.

And after plenty of stirring, we got to add the pretty purple balls too.
Melissa and Amara added the sprinkles to the pinwheels, then into the oven those went.

Wine was opened and consumed, cookies were baked, chocolate was melted, and friends reconnected.  Love cookie day with my girls.
