The girls fall party: Young Fall Fest '13

Planning the fall hayride/ party this year was tough with our secret Disney trip at the end of October and construction still in full swing at Denton, but with a little planning, we worked it out.  It was planned for November, the week after Halloween, and we were all excited, but a little nervous too--fearful of the weather.
We got all our decorations and planning ready, and Eric even had the great idea to have Maria (who has been painting the girls murals in their room) to do the face painting!
The weather was great, beautiful out and just cold enough to enjoy a bonfire, but we actually moved the time up, because this was the first time we'd had the party so late that the time change was actually a factor in play.
Mom made her sloppy joe and I made a wicked spiked cider.  Melissa brought beer cheese soup (a long story, lol) and Tiffany brought some yummy popcorn with white chocolate and Gail brought her fruit salad. It was so nice having friends chip in and made it nice to have friends who WANTED to!  awesome gals.
The scavenger hunt was a huge hit this year--Amara kept having one over and over with different friends throughout the night :) and we had a silly string tag/fight in the driveway.  Amara thought it was hilarious, but some of the parents didn't appreciate my humor apparently...
Dad ran the hayrides, which got quite dark at the end, and Eric played a great host as always.
Poor Cora got tired and overwhelmed at it all and by 6:30 was asking to go home.  Eric actually took her home shortly after that and I held down the fort--Amara stayed and played with Adley until we forced her to come home.
We decided this year to make our homemade applesauce to hand out to each family as a favor and everyone loved it! It worked out perfectly since everyone already had their fill of Halloween treats and I don't anyone who doesn't love our applesauce, me included!
We all had an amazing time and it always reminds us how lucky we are to have such awesome folks in our lives, mom and dad's farm, and kids who love to have fun, laugh, and hug--A LOT :)
